1. Know Where to Find Coupons:

The first thing you need to get started is to have coupons. But, where do you find them all is usually the first thing people ask me. You have so many different options to access tons of printable and electronic coupons. Here are the top 6 ways I find the best coupons.

        * Inserts in the Sunday paper- there are inserts each week from Smart Source, Red Plum and P&G.

        * Printable Coupon- You can print a ton of coupons straight from the internet, some of the top printable sites:

        * Catalina Coupons- These are the coupons that print out at the stores after you checkout

        * Magazines- A lot of the food magazines that you can buy have coupons in them, also Bi-Lo has one.

        * Tearpads/Blinkies- These are coupons that are found at the store, you may find them on items or on display shelves

        * eCoupons- This seems to be more popular. You can load coupons directly onto your loyalty card at stores

2.  Know When to Use Coupons

Clipping and using coupons is just the beginning of helping you save on your groceries. Knowing when to use the coupons will get you the biggest bang for your buck.

       * Wait for a sale- Waiting to use your coupon when the items are on sale is the SECRET to saving the most money. You should never

waste your coupons on full price items. Hang on to them until you see an unbeatable deal and then use them.

       * Follow Sales Cycles- Generally product sales run about 8-12 weeks. Usually finger foods would go on sale around Super Bowl, or

          candy for Valentines Day.

       * Buy at the lowest price- If you wait for that item to go on sale, you are able to get it at the lowest price, combined with a coupon

          and even a store promotion.

Have you ever asked a store if they accept competitors coupons? if not, then you should! There might be some ways to save at your store that you didn't even know about. Here are some things you should ask your store that you are taking advantage of every saving.

     * Double Coupons- Does the store double coupons? If so, does a $.50 coupon double up to $1 or does a $0.75 double up to $1.50?

is there a limit to the amount of coupons that double? Make sure understand how the stores coupon policy works.

      * Stacking Store Coupons- Make sure to ask the store if they allow you use a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon. This is called

         stacking coupons.

     * Competitor Coupons- Does your store accept competitor coupons? Make sure to ask. If they do, it's even more of a savings.

4.  Stock Up

Stocking up on sale items is a very important task at the grocery store. If you find something that is a great deal stock up that way you have it when you need it. If something is on sale you can usually use up to 5 like coupons, which means you can get (5) items.
